The Elder Statesman SS23 collection lookbook and short film was shot in Tokyo and features objects of chindōgu, or everyday gadgets that seem to be ideal solutions to particular problems, but which may cause more problems than they solve. The TES collection continues to expand the brand’s material library – working with only the highest quality of natural materials. Collection highlights are a fine cotton velvet in rich jade and turquoise, organic technicolor hand-knit cottons and a drapey hand-loomed cotton-linen-silk noil blended yarn. The collection also features comic book illustration artworks by French artist, Baptiste Virot which are patchworked onto a rippled cotton, hand-screen printed onto t-shirts, and knit into cashmere intarsias. Fantastical creatures, watercolored by painter Maia Larraz Meaker also appear throughout the collection as hand screen prints on a hand-woven Japanese cotton trouser and overshirt-dress, ceramic necklaces, and a cashmere cardigan-maxi skirt set.
